How to Consign
Consignment is by appointment only, and appointments are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note that we cannot accommodate walk-ins.
To schedule an appointment:
Please call 518-580-4200 on the 15th of the month. If the shop is closed on the 15th, appointments will be made on the next business day. You will be booking an appointment for the following month. When you come in, you will be asked to sign a consignment inventory contract and fill out a consignment inventory sheet. You can review these ahead of time by downloading the forms, below.
All prices are set by Treasures.
What to Bring
You may bring no more than 10 consignment items to each appointment. Items must be in season and in excellent condition (only gently used). If you are not sure if an item qualifies, just ask. We are happy to answer any questions.
All consignment items are evaluated by our volunteers/staff during your appointment. Please note that we accept only those items that meet our criteria.
For garments: Garments MUST be clean, fragrance free, damage free, on hangers, pressed, and ready to wear. Before consigning an article of clothing, check for:
- Stains or soiled spots, especially around collars, cuffs, underarms, and crotch areas
- Missing or loose buttons and closures
- Torn or stained linings
- Moth holes
- Pulls in fabrics
- Faded and uneven colors
- Smoke or other odors
- Pet hair
For other items: Housewares and household goods must be clean and in excellent condition. We do not accept items that are missing parts or have chips, dents, or cracks.
Not accepted: Electronics, TVs, children's toys, infant equipment, car seats, liquids and food items, and medical equipment.
Terms and Conditions
The consignor receives 40% of the selling price of each item. The consignment term is 45 days from the date the items have been processed. Treasures has a Price Reduction Schedule of 20% reduction after 2 weeks and 40% reduction after 4 weeks. Unsold items are available for consignor pickup at the end of the consignment term. Any items not picked up become the property of Treasures.
Payment: Checks are available monthly to be picked up by the consignor at Treasures. A consignor may provide Treasures with a self-addressed, stamped envelope for direct mailing of payment. Checks will only be cut for a balance of $10 or more (at the end of the month).
You have the option to have your proceeds accumulate "on account," whereby you may receive an additional discount when you shop on account in our store.
