Our weight-loss management services can help you safely reduce calories and develop skills and strategies to improve your long-term health and well-being.
A healthy diet typically includes all of the major nutrients, every day. As long as you maintain a healthy balance, you can include all types of foods in your eating plan. Through Outpatient Nutrition Services, we provide the information, tools, and skills that can help you develop””and stick with””an eating plan that meets your needs and goals. Services include:
- Individual consultation with a Registered Dietitian: A personal nutrition assessment based on your medical history, lifestyle, habits, and routines. Your Registered Dietitian will work with you to set reasonable goals and will provide tips and strategies to help you succeed. Depending on your situation, you may schedule follow-up appointments. Some people check in on a regular basis; others schedule an appointment when faced with a specific challenge. A physician referral is required. Because many insurance companies cover this type of individual counseling, we encourage you to check with your insurance provider before making your first appointment.
- Free community education programs: Offered at various locations, by Saratoga Hospital. Past programs have covered topics including gluten-free eating, the top 10 super foods, getting enough vitamin D, and healthy eating for diabetes management.
