|Comments:||Methodology: Color immunochromatographic assay using Dual Label Technology (DLT) for detection of Streptococcus grp A antigen. **NOTE: Collect 2 swabs, for children 18 yrs and younger, for reflex to Throat Group A Strep Culture when rapid antigen is negative. (The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) recommend that negative non-culture tests be confirmed by culture. However, the IDSA guidelines leave the decision to the physician as to whether cultures should be performed on adults who have a negative antigen detection test.)|
