SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, June 7, 2017 – Since 1990, the Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild has offered scholarships to high school seniors in the greater Saratoga County area who are interested in pursuing healthcare careers. This year, the Guild awarded five $1500 scholarships and the recipients were honored at the Volunteer Guild’s Annual Recognition Dinner on May 11, 2017.

The 2017 Scholarship recipients recognized were Gillian Bremer and Nicholas Nasta, both from Saratoga Springs High School and Ruben De Man from Shenendehowa High School. Also honored but unable to attend the event, was Kaitlyn Heeney from Ballston Spa High School and Mary Liebers, Saratoga Springs High School, whose father, Dr. Edward Liebers from Saratoga Hospital, was able to accept the award on behalf of his daughter. Gillian Bremer received the Mary Jane Doyle Scholarship, given in memory by the Doyle family and friends.

These five students exemplify the spirit of volunteerism, the importance of community involvement, and significance of academic achievement. Congratulations and best of luck to these students from the Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild.
