Blog: Surgical Podiatry Begins with Prevention

Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Surgical Podiatry is not just about surgery. Led by Dr. Pamela Daly, a board-certified surgical podiatrist, the practice focuses on prevention as much as diagnosis and treatment. Some issues, if caught early, can be treated without surgery. That is why it is important to not delay calling a doctor when something is wrong.

Some patients delay their care because they feel uncertain about visiting a doctor’s office during the pandemic. It is actually a greater risk to put off your healthcare needs. We take great care to make sure our patients are safe when they visit us.

We ask patients to call from their vehicle when they arrive, so we can limit the number of people in the waiting room at a time, and toPam Daly wear a mask when they come in. We screen patients, staff, and vendors alike by taking their temperature and asking about symptoms and possible virus exposure. For more information about the precautions taken here, at Saratoga Hospital, and at all Saratoga Hospital facilities, please visit this webpage

So, there is no reason to put off that phone call if your foot has been bothering you. Patients do not need a referral. We also take urgent visits, as well. While we don’t see patients for routine foot care, such as trimming nails and calluses, routine care is available through Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Podiatry.

Our Surgical Podiatry practice treats conditions of the foot and ankle, including infections, skin and nail disorders, neuromas, ingrown toenails, plantar warts, foot deformities, injuries to bones, tendons and soft tissue, heel pain, bunions, and problems resulting from illness. Our practice offers custom, functional orthotics and full biomechanical of your lower extremities. We also do diabetic evaluations and treat diabetic wounds and infections.

Urgent care visits are available should you experience any trauma or other immediate need. These include foot injuries, pain, sports injuries, as well as soft tissue and infection concerns, including ingrown toenails.

In order to serve our patients better, our practice moved on October 12 to the new offices at Saratoga Hospital Medical Offices - Wilton Mall. The space has been completely reconstructed with more—and larger—patient rooms. Saratoga Hospital Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is right across the hall, so we can work more closely together. We will be doing minor surgical procedures in our new space, but larger procedures, such as bone surgery, will be done at Saratoga Surgery Center or Saratoga Hospital.

Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Surgical Podiatry is located at 3065 Route 50, Saratoga Springs. For an appointment, please call 518-584-1590.
