    Blog: Primary Care for Women

Your primary care provider is the one person who is familiar with all of your medical conditions and concerns. Women’s Primary Care takes that role a little further, focusing on whole-patient care with an eye to those concerns that are specific to women. Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Women’s Primary Care, led by board-certified primary care physician Karen Krutchick, MD, offers continuity of care for female patients through all stages of adult life.

“Primary care can sometimes be the only safe place in a woman’s life,” Dr. Krutchick says, “and so we offer a space where patients can feel comfortable to talk about whatever is on their mind, even if it doesn’t appear to be medical. Sometimes, these concerns are the root of a physical complaint. The care we provide pays attention to those details, so we can seek solutions more permanent than just treating symptoms.”

Dr. Karen KrutchickWomen’s Primary Care services include physicals and other prevention and wellness services, acute care for minor illnesses and chronic conditions, patient education, breast exams and other screenings, well-woman gynecology services, and other services to detect any problems early and help women stay healthy throughout their lives.

It is not uncommon for women to be managing multiple such conditions as well as facing depression and anxiety. Women’s Primary Care is dedicated to helping patients address these concerns comprehensively and compassionately.

“We will always ask whether you feel safe at home,” Dr. Krutchick says. “Our office might be the only opportunity someone has to get away from an abuser and is often the one place where they feel comfortable telling the truth about what’s going on at home.”
