Blog: Heart Care Following a Cardiac Event

Anyone who has been through a cardiac event is recovering both physically and emotionally while making significant lifestyle changes. Our cardiovascular team knows none of this is easy, but has seen patients completely turn their life around with support. You don’t have to go through this alone.

To that end, once a month you are welcome to join others at our Cardiac Care Support Group organized by our cardiovascular service line team. Recovering from a cardiac event is a continuous process that benefits from ongoing support and guidance. The team will answer your post-care questions and offer information on healthy eating, exercising, and mental wellness to support your transition to a new daily routine.

The next support group is taking place on Wednesday, February 19, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Saratoga Hospital First Floor Classroom. Our dedicated volunteers at the main entrance front desk will point you in the right direction.

February is American Heart Month, a time to remember all of the available support to help you maintain a healthy heart. Here are some great tips on Living with Heart Disease from the American Heart Association.

This week has been National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week, celebrating the work of cardiovascular professionals and the support they provide to improve patient care. Cardiac rehabilitation is a program of customized education and exercise to safely and carefully help patients resume normal activities and improve their quality of life. We are grateful for all of the cardiovascular professionals who are committed every day to ensure the highest quality of care to people with heart disease, including diagnostic, interventional, and rehabilitative support.

We offer cardiac rehabilitation at Regional Therapy Center at Care Lane and an After Therapy Club at all of our Regional Therapy Locations. Ask your cardiologist for a referral.
