    Angel Maloney, Phlebotomist

Angel Maloney, Phlebotomist Meet Angel Maloney, a phlebotomist and laboratory support specialist in our Laboratory Services department. She works at our Wilton Medical Arts facility. She provides patient care, draws blood for tests, inspects specimens for accuracy and quality, tracks receipts of samples, handles laboratory processing, maintains records, and orders scripts. Angel joined Saratoga Hospital in November 2018.

Angel has found that patients of all ages are frequently very afraid of having their blood drawn. Angel feels it’s important to reassure patients and ease them through it. She talks about the process with them before she does anything and tells them exactly what to expect. Then she talks them through each step of the actual draw, so they can see the process is just like she told them, relaxing them and building trust.

“I love the patient interaction,” Angel says, “and making a difference in people’s lives. Some patients I see repeatedly, and each time they return, I can see their progress. It’s just amazing. I genuinely care for each of them. I have laughed, cried and mourned with many of them.”

Family is an important part of Angel’s everyday life, and she enjoys spending time with her grown daughters, sons-in-law and granddaughter. She looks forward to the day when they can gather with the entire Italian family and extended circle of friends. She loves to camp, take long walks, and run in nice weather. Angel is very much a people-person, and her faith is the center of who she is.

Angel Maloney is one of many compassionate, skilled professionals here at Saratoga Hospital.
